Most apps say “we take your privacy seriously”. Here is what that means here, precisely enough to hold us to it.
Your photos and messages are end-to-end encrypted
The key is made on your two phones and never sent anywhere — not to us, not to Google. What our servers hold is ciphertext they cannot open.

Questions people actually ask
Is it really only two people?
Yes. A pair is exactly two accounts and the database enforces it — there is no group, no invite-a-third, and no way to be added to somebody’s Dearest Heart without redeeming their code.
What happens if we lose both phones?
Your history is gone unless one of you saved the recovery key. That is the cost of encryption we cannot undo: if we could restore your messages, so could anybody who convinced us they were you.
Do notifications show what was sent?
Yes, on your phone. The notification arrives encrypted and your device opens it before the banner is drawn — our servers send something they cannot read.
What does it cost?
The daily photo, chat and countdown are free. One subscription covers you both and unlocks letters, the map, and the shared calendar.
What if we break up?
Either of you can unpair. Blocking ends the pair, wipes what is on your phone, and stops them reaching you here. Deleting your account removes both sides of it.
